We brought Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Laurel and Jones County!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books each month to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. Nurture Our Future is the sponsor for this program in Laurel and Jones County, which means we sign children up, AND cover the costs of the books that go out to children in Laurel and Jones County! You can help us cover the cost of books FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR for ONE CHILD for $25!
Since June of 2021 we’ve enrolled 2000 children under the age of 5 in Laurel and Jones County!
We Launched the Brain Bus– Our Community’s Mobile Children’s Museum!
Meet the Brain Bus, our Mobile Children’s Museum! Created to travel and meet children and their families in their neighborhoods, this converted school bus can build brains through play. Check back soon for our summer schedule!
We host the FREE community educational event- Nurture Our Future’s Touch-A-Truck!
Nurture Our Future annually hosts a FREE one day experience on the First Saturday in March that gives families an up-close look at their favorite “big trucks” and the opportunity to meet the people that protect, serve, and build the Laurel area. Proceeds from sponsorships support Nurture Our Future’s programs that enrich the lives and promote education for Laurel and Jones County children. It is one of the only child-focused festivals in our community, and offers an incredible opportunity for families to come downtown and learn, grown, and play with their children.
